A Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash!
Both my kids have birthdays in September. (We didn't originally plan to have two birthdays a week apart but the good Lord had different plans.) So does one of their cousins so we usually do a combined Birthday celebration. I never imagined I would struggle finding birthday themes for 2 boys and a girl!
It was about a month before their birthdays, I was still at a loss for a theme. Until the day I had to run to Michael's to pick up a few things and like always when I'm in that store I travel down isles picking up things I really didn't need. But today I was thankful for my gravitational pull up and down odd isles!!! Because after about the 3rd isle I turned the corner and standing right in front of me in the clearance section was Cat in the Hat! I instantly thought O My, how perfect all the kids LOVE Dr. Seuss!! Isn't it funny how God leads you to things?!?! The best part was that everything was clearance!!! This was one deal I wasn't about to pass up, so I grabbed everything they had and beelined it for the cash register. I completely forgot about the reason why I even needed to go into the store! But for some reason I had the need to check out as soon as possible almost as if the price of my recently found treasure would increase the longer I waited!
So there you have it, that's how the idea of the Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash was born. Since that day in Michael's my brain could not stop thinking about Dr. Seuss....I was waking up in the middle of the night writing down party ideas!
